‘Pink’, of course, scores majorly in the way it bares open the vulnerability of the so-called empowered Indian women. To be in the pink of health in this parched society, the feudal world insists that even empowered women need to understand the importance of being subservient. This is again a story of three women – Rani, Lajjo and Bijli. But in the world of ‘Parched’, Bijli (Surveen Chawla) takes on the onus of shaming the supposedly-shameless. Both ‘Pink’ and ‘Parched’, with all their share of flaws, don’t just remain isolated films.
