Thankfully, there was one stand out with Lord Sugar sending the hopefuls to the splendid surroundings of Cawdor Castle in Nairnshire, around 23 miles east of Inverness. A fortified site since the 12th century, work on the current Cawdor Castle started in the late 14th century. In recent years, it has become a favourite among Outlander enthusiasts despite never appearing in the TV show or books. The A-listed castle, and its impressive gardens, can be visited throughout the summer although it is currently closed to the public until April 27. Entry to the castle costs £15.50 while a family of two adults and up top five children can get in for £38.
