The New York Giants, currently run by a guy who looks like he owns a speedboat and uses it to smuggle cigarettes across a lake to Canada, have benched quarterback Eli Manning. And now Eli, who most of the time has been the Prince Harry of the Manning QB royal family, was running the scout team in practice, and seems done as a Giant. A significant chunk of New York seems outraged by this and, in one sense, fair enough. Seventh in career passing attempts, sixth in completions, seventh in passing yards, seventh in touchdowns, 18th in interceptions. Yes, those Giants teams were powered by kick-ass defences, but Eli Manning stood up to the moment, both times.
