The National Farmers Union is doing its usual insistence that really, everyone must pay attention to what is today a very minor league and trivial part of the UK economy. The concerns are, naturally, over the effects that Brexit is going to have upon the subsidy regime. The major direct subsidy from taxpayers to farmers doesn't do any good anyway:There're actually two sets of subsidies that farmers receive (only two of major importance that is). This all looks good from the farmers point of view of course, they can see the cheques rolling in. And David Ricardo pointed out what happens then the rental value of land goes up - the capital value of that land does.
