Universal PicturesConsidering The Mummy franchise has been amongst the most popular in India, a country where Hollywood tentpoles often have limited appeal, it's no surprise that the Universal reboot was the No. Perhaps less predictable was the relatively thin margin between The Mummy and Raabta, director Dinesh Vijan's reincarnation drama starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon. However it is unlikely to reach The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, which collected a lucrative $9.9 million in 2008. Produced by T-Series and Maddock Films, Raabta rang up an estimated 16 crore ($2.4 million) net on 1,820 screens. So factoring in the taxes equating to 30% or so of The Mummy's gross, the two titles are not that far apart.
