'The series timeline takes place after Return of the Jedi,' he told USA Today. 'And fans of the original trilogy will remember that Yoda not only passes away but actually disappears. He refused to say whether 'baby Yoda is related to the Yoda we all known and love, citing potential 'spoilers'. Favreau also explained something which has puzzled fans - the lack of baby Yoda merchandise.
