The New York Times also picked it up and used the phrase “sexual harassment” in a headline. Within a short time, sexual harassment became a popular topic and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission drafted guidelines for lawsuits on sexual harassment and many women started suing their employers for groping and intimidation. Wood’s case didn’t end positively, but it brought women together to fight sexual harassment and also drew attention to the issue.
