Photo: Craig Baxter reporter Rob Kidd has been named Regional Journalist of the Year at the Voyager Media Awards in Auckland on Saturday night. Mr Kidd was also a finalist in the crime and justice writing category. "But Rob Kidd spots riveting yarns in day to day court appearances and then chases those stories well beyond the dock." In his speech on the night Mr Kidd dedicated the award to his son and thanked Marian Reid, whom he covers court with, and ODT photographer Gregor Richardson.
