Thirty-five years after first hitting theaters, The Karate Kid is returning to the big screen for a limited engagement - and it is going to look better than ever. To celebrate the milestone, the classic 80s movie has been fully restored in 4K from the original camera negative. The Karate Kid will play in select theaters nationwide on Sunday, March 31, 2019, and Tuesday, April 2, 2019, and will include an exclusive introduction from stars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka. The Karate Kid made $91 million at the domestic box office alone against an $8 million, became a worldwide hit, and a pop culture phenomenon that delivered everything from quotable phrases to iconic imagery and inspirational life lessons. The theatrical presentation of The Karate Kid will also include a sneak peek at the upcoming second season.
