TaskrabbitA few years ago, nobody could have thought that doing a small gig in exchange for an hourly payment could become someone’s full-time job. If you work at an organization, you probably have your own office, a cubicle or at least a desk to sit behind. To speak of, the gig economy is flourishing. And since taxing is quite literally at the center of this dilemma, several organizations that support basic civil rights for workers believe that a tax is exactly what the gig economy needs. The gig economy, however fantastic it might be, can never sustain if the workers that keep it running are left unsatisfied.
