Tech bindings were long the province of AT specialists, namely Dynafit and more recently G3. Tech bindings were designed for going up and are very light with a great climbing range of motion. Unless you are doing uphill racing where eyery ounce affects speed, I would recommend only buying TUV certified Tech bindings if Tech is what you want (more on this below).
