The capital city Reykjavik was discovered in 1786 and home to Viking settlements as early as 874 AD. I spoke at length with Jóhannes Ásbjörnsson, the owner of the luxury hotel Tower Suites, whose company also owns The Trophy Lodge, located in the countryside town of Úthlíð. You could go through the Tower Suites front desk to get information, but it’s something that is not available online and only by referral. We have groups staying at Tower Suites for two nights and then taking helicopters to the country and two nights there. The Tower Suites are built with the same idea, by not being aggressive in marketing.
