Senate Banking Committee Chairman Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), the lead sponsor of the resolution to quash the CFPB rule, isn’t positive he has the votes. Democrats and their allies appear intent on ensuring that bad press from the Wells Fargo and Equifax messes chase them down the stretch. On Wednesday, former Equifax chief executive Richard Smith sat for his second congressional grilling in as many days, this time before the Senate Banking Committee. Former Equifax CEO Richard F. Smith will testify before the House Financial Services Committee.
