Adobe announced this week that it will officially end development of the Adobe Flash Player at the end of 2020. To be honest, though, the end of 2020 is still a long way off, and the death of Flash is actually long overdue. Three of the four zero-day vulnerabilities that have been discovered so far are in Adobe Flash.”In the wake of the Adobe Flash zero day revelations from the Hacking Team leak there were calls to pull the plug on Flash. In its letter, Adobe also points out that its own tools—like Animate CC and Premiere Pro CC—have embraced HTML 5 as well. I am a huge fan of Adobe and Adobe products, and I have tremendous respect for the role Adobe Flash played in the evolution of the web.
