The Coca-Cola Co has taken sport star endorsements in a new direction after signing up its first virtual athlete. The company said today it has sponsored Alex Hunter, a character in EA Sports' best-selling football game franchise FIFA. Hunter, who first appeared in FIFA 2017, will be depicted signing on as a brand ambassador for Coca-Cola Zero Sugar in the story mode version of the upcoming FIFA 2018. FIFA is the world's most popular football video game, with more than 3.5m daily players in more than 190 countries. The game's story mode, called 'Journey', showcases the off-the-pitch life of one of the world's best footballers.
