This week, The Chainsmokers’ hit single “Closer” is not only at No. 5 on the Hot 100, but it remains in the top position on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, which measures the most popular tracks that fit in the dance/electronic genre. The Chainsmokers can now claim to have the longest-running leader on that specific tally in history. The track debuted within the top 10 on the Hot 100 last August, which immediately certified it as a hit. 1 hit of 2016 in the U.S., and one of the fourth longest-running chart-toppers of all time.
