Solo: A Star Wars Story is continuing to plummet at the box office, despite the film being far better than it had any right to be. I’m not sure what Solo’s failure means for the Boba Fett spin-off, but if Disney holds their nerve and goes through with their plans, I don’t think there’s any reason that Boba’s story couldn’t be a hit. Unlike Han Solo, Boba Fett was a mysterious side-character who left audiences craving for more; exactly the kind of guy you’d want to star in a spin-off. Boba Fett needs to be shown escaping from the belly of the Sarlacc, somehow, and forging a new life for himself. Or maybe he suffered a long-overdue identity crisis, sparked by the innumerable Jango Fett clones running around the galaxy.
