The Black Hoof, a star of Toronto’s restaurant scene, to close in August

The Black Hoof, the popular charcuterie restaurant, which has enjoyed a decade-long tenure on Dundas West, announced it will shut down in August. “I’m so proud of what this place was and what it has become,” owner Jen Agg said in a social media post announcing the closure of Black Hoof. The restaurant was a pioneer in the Dundas West neighbourhood, triggering the area’s reputation as a foodie destination. “I love their food first and foremost,” said Tom Spis, a repeat diner at The Black Hoof. Agg, one of Toronto’s most prominent restaurateurs, has dominated the Dundas West restaurant scene, operating such eateries as Cocktail Bar, Rhum Corner and The Black Hoof, all located off Dundas St. W., just steps from each other near Trinity Bellwoods Park.
