As MBA students begin their job search, there is one mistake that students tend to make, year after year. As Stevens says: “Choice is good.”A key benefit of a full-time MBA is the opportunity to learn about different roles, companies, and jobs and to explore new and different options. When I asked him what type of role he wanted, he described a strategic marketing role. A more optimal way to do this is to identify the type of role, job, career path and then look for all of the companies—regardless of industry—that do this. Part of the benefit of an MBA is the opportunity to explore career options and find the one that seems to fit best.
