Clinical trials that get off to a good start are more likely to be successful trials. The focus on technology as a driver of performance improvement in clinical trials is intense, but despite years of valiant efforts, study execution remains far from optimal. For study startup, one of the most complex parts of clinical trials, the data is dismal. A renewed focus by pharma and CROs on study startup is key to overhauling study performance and stemming cycle time stagnation.
