Jon Snow obviously isn’t going to die again, that would fall flat. But I can’t deny that it really, really bothered me when they recast actor Ed Skrein without acknowledging it in some form, or creating a new character altogether. Interestingly enough, what first drew me to Game of Thrones was its resemblance to typical Lord of the Rings fantasy fare. As the show progresses, it’s the characters that play into tired fantasy tropes that seem to bother me more than anything. But as the seventh season of the show approaches, I’m confident that Game of Thrones will find ways to surprise us all.
