This is Intel's very-low-power processor series (7 watts) and is more suitable for the diminutive 2-pound 12-inch MacBook* than the (much) larger 2.75-pound 2018 MacBook Air. Another thing to keep in mind: the 2018 MacBook Air is dual-core. "From a performance perspective, [the 2018 MacBook Air is] going to basically be a dog on multi-threaded, multi-core tasks. Summary: The 2018 MacBook Air with Retina display is an attractive physical design with an emphasis on long battery life. And note that though the 2018 MacBook Air is slower than the 2018 13-inch MacBook Pro without Touch Bar, there isn't a huge performance gap because the 2018 MBP 13 uses an older 7th Generation Core i5.
