A 25-year-old man from Bhayander has been booked for allegedly posting objectionable morphed pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and circulating it on WhatsApp, police said on Wednesday. Based on a complaint filed by a VHP activist Vinod Shinde, an offence was registered against the accused in Bhayander police station. The accused has been booked under IPC section 153 (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc). "By posting the objectionable picture on social media, the accused had attempted to create enmity among members of the society," the complaint said. Further probe into the incident was on and no arrest has been made so far in connection, the officer said.
