Cathedral and John Connon School under-14 boys team representing Mumbai District defeated Kolhapur District 1-0 in a closely-contested final of the Subroto Cup football tournament at All Saints School Ground, Bhiwandi. This was the first time after a long gap that Mumbai District has won the tournament. By not conceding a single goal in the entire tournament, Cathedral players have done their coaches Nelson Sebastian and Jayesh Solanki proud. Following their latest win, Cathedral will head to Delhi next month to represent Maharashtra in the national tournament. Instituted in the memory of Air Marshall Subroto Mukerjee in 1960, Subroto Cup is India's premier inter-school football tournament and has been held annually since 1960.
