The Tourism Authority of Thailand announced the national tourism campaign for 2017 last October. Last year, arrivals from the |Asean nations to Thailand numbered 8.6 million. This year, the number of tourists from Asean nations is expected |to be 9.20 million, 5.0 per cent more than last year. In addition, Thai tourism executives participated in meetings of the Asean tourism ministers as well as representatives from Japan, China, South Korea and Russia during the event. Yuthasak said TAT would be the host country for the next Asean Tourism Forum, to be held in Chiang Mai from January 22-26, 2018.
