Thailand Post the latest to add fuel surcharge

The announcement on Wednesday came a day after three other parcel delivery operators — KEX Express (Thailand), J&T Express Thailand and Flash Express — imposed a 3-baht surcharge. Thailand Post said it would maintain normal delivery fees for basic services such as letters, registered mail and standard parcels. The surcharge is temporary and will be adjusted when fuel prices return to normal, it added. Fuel surcharges are a common practice among logistics providers, he said, allowing operators to adjust only variable costs linked to fuel prices rather than carry out a full pricing overhaul. The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society earlier advised Thailand Post to delay any adjustments to shipping fees until after Songkran.
