Immigration police and provincial officials had set up a checkpoint on a side road in Sa Kaew’s Aranyaprathet district and spotted a pickup truck coming from a border area at 10am. They stopped the pickup and found four Cambodian women and three men hidden inside. The pickup driver, Nopparat Somsak, 47, was arrested. The Cambodians did not have travelling documents, so they will face legal action and be deported. Aranyaprathet district chief Saowanit Suriyakul said 7,207 Cambodians had been arrested in Sa Kaew for sneaking into the Kingdom and deported.
