Scientists stumbled over the development when growing human muscle tissue for grafting with no intention of adapting the technique to fast food. The scientists used a scaffolding made out of soy protein to train bovine cells to develop into a three-dimensional structure similar to meat. It is possible to culture real muscle cells, but difficult to do so for mass production. The researchers used similar techniques to before, creating a matrix structure out of soy protein, on which they cultured several muscle types from cows.
