The 39-year-old was diagnosed with a "nasty" form of skin cancer called desmoplastic melanoma in August 2016. Doctors discovered the "mole looking thing" was a rare and aggressive skin cancer, while the surrounding liver spot was "plain old melanoma". "If the pathology on the removed skin does not have clear margins I will need a third removal surgery and a second skin graft."
