West Virginia started its second drive at the Texas 48-yard line. And then again — Card found Robinson out of the backfield for a 16-yard gain that nearly doubled when West Virginia was called for a late hit out of bounds. Fortunately for the Longhorns, Card bailed Texas out of the ensuing 3rd and 7 by scrambling for 17 yards. When junior cornerback Jahdae Barron was called for pass interference in the end zone, West Virginia was once again knocking on the Texas goal line. When the Mountaineers tried an onside kick and failed to recover it, the Longhorns were able to run out the final 4:25.
