Sure enough, Sunday brought a report that Texas officials have decided to fire Strong. “There are a number of rumors out there about the status of Charlie Strong,” Perrin said. With its loss, Texas fell to 5-6, and the team has gone 16-20 in Strong’s three seasons in Austin.
