However, head coach Bill O’Brien has operated as the team’s general manager since, with assistance from executive vice president of player development Jack Easterby. The Texans’ latest playoff exit led to more scrutiny of O’Brien, who is 2-4 in the postseason in six years with Houston. The coach told reporters earlier this month he doesn’t anticipate the team hiring a new general manager soon.
