Miniature kidney's which were being grown in a laboratory have suddenly started forming brain and muscle cells. The lab-grown organs which were created in test tubes started to 'go rogue' and began behaving in a completely unexpected way. The kidneys, also known as kidney organoids, were expected to form different kinds of kidney cells by scientists conducting the research, reports the Daily Star. However he added that scientists haven't quite learnt that the organoid cells may not mirror the behaviour of human cells and therefore produce different results. He also stated that this discovery means that the same method could be applied to targeting rogue cells in other organoids.
