Test and Trace private consultants paid '£7,500 a day' of taxpayer cash

Public documents show BCG has won a string of contracts including a £5m deal to provide "digital support" to Test and Trace between April and July. But Labour's Dan Carden noted that the "cronyism" of the NHS Test and Trace scheme is well documented. The outsourced Test and Trace service originally recruited 25,000 call handlers, most of whom are employed by the private firms Serco and Sitel. Serco and Sitel had contracts worth £108m and £84m respectively to run Test and Trace between May and August 23. Chancellor Rishi Sunak said last month: "We have now provided over £12billion for test and trace."
