Supermarkets are currently only allowed to offer 'essential' goods to customers in Wales, including food, pharmaceuticals, toiletries and 'personal care' products. The supermarket responded earlier today, informing the shopper they had been told "not [to] sell these items". The retail giant said: "We understand how frustrating these changes are for our Welsh customers. However, we have been told by the Welsh Government not to sell these items for the duration of the lockdown. In England, meanwhile, current guidance states non-essential items can be sold in a "mixed retail" setting where essential items are also on offer, like in a supermarket.
