It was an audience three times the size of any crowd Obama had drawn back in the United States. Americans desperately wanted to be loved by the world, and everyone in the world seemed to love Obama. What was wrought by Obama’s 2008 election was the beginning of the end of American power and prestige in the world. Within two years, democratic revolts were shaking the foundations of several Arab police states, and Obama was at best indifferent. It ended on Barack Obama’s watch.
