The US Secretary of State and Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj issued joint press statements on the occasion of Tillerson's visit to India. "Happy to inform that our defence and strategic relations have deepened after PM's US visit," said Sushma Swaraj. Swaraj pointed out that the recent Afghanistan attacks "are proof that safe havens and supporters of terrorism are active". Sushma Swaraj further urged that the countries supporting terrorism should be held responsible. Supporting the Indian minister, Secretary Tillerson specified that "terror safe havens will not be tolerated", and reiterated that US will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with India in fighting terrorism.
