PARIS—French prosecutors opened a counterterror probe on Saturday, after a man stabbed two people to death and wounded five others in southeastern France. The suspect, a Sudanese man in his 30s, attacked bystanders in the street and in shops in the center of Romans-sur-Isère, a small town near the city of Lyon, according to the prosecutor’s office.
