Terra Nova deadline comes — and goes — without word of its fate

That would mean, here in Newfoundland and Labrador, any developments would be made after 7:45 p.m. NT or before 8:15 a.m. NT. It was Suncor's deadline to meet or miss, Industry, Energy and Technology Minister Andrew Parsons told reporters Tuesday. The same day, he said the provincial government had put in writing its offer of about $500 million in cash and incentives to keep Terra Nova going, but that it continued to refuse to buy a part of Terra Nova outright, as the companies had asked for. (Mike Simms/CBC)Any plans to abandon Terra Nova require approval from the offshore regulator, the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board.
