Tennis star Félix Auger-Aliassime gets to play with his best friend at the National Bank Open in Toronto. They’ve been leading a doubles life
In Toronto this week, they will team up for doubles for the first time on the ATP Tour. “He’s my childhood friend, my best friend — not just in tennis. Our paths separated when he went to university and I turned pro,” Auger-Aliassime told the Star. Tennis stuttered to a halt after the pandemic hit, and there was nowhere to play to get started in the pros. The first time he recalls Auger-Aliassime beating him was in the final of the under-12 national championships in Calgary in 2010.
