SportSri Lanka's top ranked wheelchair tennis player, Gamini Dissanayake won the Men's Singles event at the Westend Wheelchair Tennis Championship held in Belgium. Earlier in the quarter-finals he overcame fellow compatriot Rajakaruna 2-0, after recording 6-4 and 6-3 wins in each sets. Dissanayake beat Rubin Spargin of Holland in straight set, 6-0 and 6-4, to win the final comfortably by 2-0. In the Men's Doubles final Dissanayake and Rajakaruna paired up to beat Belgium's Ivan Kindt and Holland's Rubin Spargin 2-0, 7-5 and 6-3. Partnering with Upali Rajakaruna, Dissanayake gave Sri Lanka a double win when they clinched the Men's Doubles title to sign off the competition in a high note.
