Tendulkar, Kambli bury the hatchet and become friends again

MUMBAI: Eight years after former India batsman Vinod Kambli blew the lid off his famous friendship with batting legend Sachin Tendulkar by saying in a TV show that the latter didn't lend a helping hand during his downward spiral, both Tendulkar and Kambli seem to have buried the hatchet and become friends again.Confirming to TOI on Monday evening that the two have indeed sorted out their differences, Kambli told TOI: "Yes, everything is fine between us and I'm happy with it. ""We are very close... we were very close. He could have done a little more, but he didn't," Kambli had said in July 2009, in reply to a query on his friendship with Tendulkar. Hurt by Kambli's comments, Tendulkar didn't even invite his former school mate to his farewell 200th Test in Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium in 2013, and didn't even mention his name in his emotional farewell speech. Kambli, however, stressed, that any bitterness during these past few years is now "forgotten."
