Tenders sought for new bandstand and public toilets in Tullamore parkOffaly County Council has sought tenders for the construction of a new bandstand and public toilets in Lloyd Town Park in Tullamore. The council said the modular building “must be self-contained and be easily accessible for both the public using the facilities and for maintenance operations” throughout the lifespan of the facility. The bandstand is to be raised and railings of a simple design are also requiredPart 8 planning as approved for the bandstand at a meeting of Offaly County Council on July 18 last. Located at Cormac Street, the five-acre town park was established in 1987 and officially opened to the public in 2008, after extensive refurbishment. The current toilet facilities were installed in Lloyd town park were installed in 2008, and were described as being "no longer fit for purpose” in a document drawn up by Offaly County Council as part of the Part 8 planning process.
