The deceased, Abdul Motin, Mohsin Ali, Azizul Islam, Sohel Rana, Mono Miah, Amrito Roy, Shafiqul Islam, and his wife Monjuara Begum died on Tuesday and Wednesday, confirmed UNO Touhidur Rahman. Assistant Superintendent of Police of Birampur zone, Mithun Sarker, said: “They bought rectified spirit, also known as ethyl alcohol, from a homoeopathic pharmacy and consumed the toxic liquor mixed with a soft drink named Tiger.”“Ten people have died so far and 15 more are critically ill. We arrested the pharmacist Abdul Mannan right after the incident took place,” added the ASP.
