File pictureJalpaiguri: Forensic experts based in Calcutta have said an electrical short circuit had caused the fire that had gutted the temple of Devi Choudhurani and Bhabani Pathak in Jalpaiguri. District police officials said electricity was drawn to the temple illegally, which led to the blaze that completely gutted temple on February 16. On February 18, a two-member team from the state forensic science laboratory, located at Belgachia in Calcutta, had visited the temple site on Sikarpur Tea Estate to find out the cause of fire. Short circuit from the unauthorised connection led to the blaze.
