Temperatures are set to rise slowly over the coming days following the recent cold spell that saw the mercury plummet to lows of -5.3C in parts of the country. Two status yellow weather warnings remain in place on Tuesday morning, with Met Éireann warning of "treacherous" travel conditions. More generally on Tuesday, Met Éireann has said it will be a cold start to the day. Any rain or drizzle in the east will clear on Wednesday night, "giving way to a mostly dry night apart from a few coastal showers". Temperatures will be between 0C to 4C on Wednesday night, but they will dip back below freezing on Thursday night with Met Éireann forecasting lows of -1C to 2C.
