Furthermore, it was yet another win over a promotion contender, with Boreham Wood sat in third with games in hand coming into the Saturday evening clash. Boreham Wood brought on Danilo Orsi and Adrian Clifton, and it would be the former United players who would come closest to an equaliser. Ten minutes later, Orsi himself would have an opportunity to secure a point, although his low effort would be gathered comfortably by the Maidenhead goalkeeper. A free kick from what was effectively a corner position was whipped in by Sparkes, and the Boreham Wood defence failed to clear properly.
