25-year-old Alia Jahan is a working mother like many others, but there is something that sets her apart- she brings her eight-month old baby to work everyday. A conductor with the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), Jahan is often seen issuing tickets to passengers in the bus with her baby strapped on her shoulders. As of now, I can't take leave...I had requested for office work but as it was not available I joined and continued as conductor." Her daughter was born on December, after which Jahan took her six-month maternity leave and an additional month before re-joining, but along with her child. Her ordeal came to light after some passengers took her pictures and shared it on social media, urging authorities to help her.
