Mahendran’s son Dinesh, 14, a student of a private school nearby, and his friends had the habit of catching pigeons that gather on the terrace of the building complex. On Saturday evening, he went up to catch some pigeons, but the door to the terrace was locked. “He attempted to climb by grabbing hold of a sun shade, but, he slipped and fell,” said the officer.
