In the Christchurch Youth Court, the teenager, who has automatic name suppression, did not deny wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and threatening to kill. He said drug dealing had become a "massive issue" in Riccarton, centred around the Christchurch City Council-owned bus depot, which needed more security. He said the Youth Court would help him get over the mistakes he had made. Willis arrived and told several youths to leave the bus depot.
